Founded By
Timothy Spell brings over two decades of experience in building technology solutions specifically for associations. As the previous founder and CEO of OpenWater, Timothy led the company from its early days as a web development firm serving associations to becoming a leading SaaS platform for awards, scholarships, and abstract management.
Under Timothy's leadership, OpenWater grew to serve over 750 organizations worldwide, processing more than 12 million submissions and saving clients over $13 million in development costs. The platform became the go-to solution for associations managing complex application and review processes, from prestigious awards programs to scholarship competitions.
In 2022, OpenWater was successfully acquired by iMIS (Advanced Solutions International), marking a significant milestone in the association technology space. This experience gave Timothy deep insights into the challenges associations face in member engagement and content management.
With Fire3, Timothy is now focused on the next frontier of association technology: AI-powered member support. Drawing from his extensive experience in the association space, Timothy recognized that while associations have incredible amounts of valuable content, it's often difficult for members to find the right information at the right time. Fire3 addresses this challenge by creating intelligent AI assistants that understand association content and provide instant, accurate support to members 24/7.
